Easter Baskets at the McFarland's

Easter Baskets!
The Easter Bunny sent Quinton and Carson on a treasure egg hunt to find their baskets.  They ran up and down and all around our house following those clues!
The clue to our bedroom read, "Go to where, Dad keeps his underwear!"
Now how did Mr. Bunny know that?
Carson found a clue up on Quinton's bunk bed!
"It's not a flower, It's in the shower!" Read the last clue.
Carson found his in the other shower.
Eden's basket!

What a fun Easter morning at our house!

Coloring Easter Eggs

Coloring Easter eggs this year was way more fun than I ever remember.  Yes, both Carson and Eden took their shirts off to avoid stains from the egg dye.  So there are a few topless pictures below...

Funny daddy!

Here's Jenna and Tyler, our Easter weekend house guests, who suffered a series of unfortunate events while visiting Utah for General Conference weekend.  That my friends is a whole other story....
Our very colorful and fun 2010 Easter eggs!
Nice work McFarland family!
Last but not least, Eden broke out her Easter PJs in hope that the Easter Bunny would stop by!
Happy Easter!

Easter Cookies

Daddy had to go back to work on Friday afternoon, and Eden could barely stand to let him go!  Here she is hanging on his leg, "Don't go, Daddy!"

To get her out of the funk, I suggested that we bake some Easter cookies!
She loves to helping mom bake.
Toni had given Eden and I matching aprons for my birthday, and I nearly forgot to use them... However, I pulled them out in time for our second batch.

Our finished Easter Egg cookies.  Yummy!!!

Hippity Hoppity Easter's on its way!

Spring Break

For spring break this year, we spent a lot of family time together at home, watching movies, baking, eating, and playing.  These are some fun candid shots we took of the kids one night...(Mom and dad have a new camera!)
Boy, we have some cute kids!!!

Cub Scout Space Derby

Quinton and his Rocket "Bumble Bee"

The cub scouts held a Space Derby this past week.  Here's Bear Scout Quinton with his rocket before the big event.  Now, Quinton's Mom forgot to remind Quinton's Dad that the derby was this week until Sunday.  OOOps!  So, although they had started the project, Sunday and Monday were big days of pushing to finish. The pack had never held this derby before so no one had much experience with it.  However, Jon did great in preparing Q's rocket.  Thanks to Jon's seven listeners, they all called in with very helpful tips when asked to help out.  The Arrow Rocks!  Jon had it down so well he even ended up helping another mom at the event put hers together.  He was the only dad with a drill, so the kids were standing in line waiting for Jon to help them.
Jon winds up the elastics in Quinton's rocket.
The rocket then is mounted on the launch pad or wire.
Vroooom!  Boy did they fly!
On the last run, Quinton's rocket crashed into the other end of the upright brackets it flew so fast.  Luckily it did not break!
Third Place!
...we think.  The event wasn't really organized and the final placement wasn't clear, but we think third was our final positioning. AND, Quinton had a blast and thanked his dad warmly on the ride home!  It just makes a mom's heart melt!
Great work Jon and Quinton!!!!

Preparing for a Wedding!

So we're all dressed and ready to go to Ashley's wedding AND we've got time to spare!  It's a miracle...So why not try to use the extra time and take a few pictures of the kids in their nice clothes before we leave.  Mom sits them down, tries to line them up and... Honestly, do you know how hard it is to photograph three kids...together??  Here are the results of our silly efforts.

"Cheese"
I loved her dress, her hair and she loved her baby...Now, why couldn't she have opened her eyes?
