Founder's Day BBQ at the Weller's

Dawn and Steve know how to throw a great BBQ!  They not only invited our favorite family members, but had amazing pulled pork sandwiches, football on the lawn, sparklers, a fire pit, roasted marshmellows,  some-mores, and they topped it all off with fireworks!  Nice!!!
Terra and Baby Tristan
Addie had big stories to tell Jon about a CAT!  She was very animated when she got to the part about her momma throwing a thong at the cat!  LOL!  Kids say the darndest things!!!
How fun is this???  I want a fire pit for the McFarland's now!
... Jon, pretty please!!!
Yummy!
Eden loves her Grammy!
Addie and Jenny
Nose picking cannot be stopped when you're two!
Waiting for the fireworks to start...
Dustin and Terra
She never saw one firework!
The next morning, when I asked if she had fun at Aunt Dawn's party she said, "It's not over, we still get to watch fireworks!"
Thanks for inviting us to a really fun party, Dawn and Steve!!!
After the party we had a sleep-over at Gramma Margarets!  What a treat! The kids rarely get to spend the night with Grandma, so it topped off the weekend fabulously!
I love summer!!!

Pleasant View Founder's Day with Carter and the Coach

Jon Carter and The Coach were invited to MC at the Pleasant View City Founder's Day Police vs. Fire Department baseball game.  It gave our family a chance to spend the day up in N.Ogden with grandma and the Weller's.
Jon threw out the first pitch (and it didn't even bounce!) while Brett joined the fireman team.

The fireman took home the trouphy and posed with the Arrow morning team.

Cub Scout Camp 2010

Cub scout camp this year was loads of fun.  I joined the group for one of their two days and captured these great pictures.  We had 18 scouts this year and 18,0000 bugs!  A great time was had by all - bugs included!
Fun, fun, fun!

Summertime And The Livin' is Easy

Backyard sleepouts, swim team, soccer, scout camp, water parties, some homework and a whole lot of popcycles are just a few of the ways we've jumped into summer at the McFarland hacienda!
Yup, dad joined the sleepout to protect the boys from bears!... and racoons!!!  It was a first for the boys and Carson came in the next morning sayin' "Who's not scared?!!  It was soooo fun!!!!"

On Father's Day, (the morning after the sleepout) our neighbors, the Wilson's, had three mean and mad racoons in their back yard that their dog had cornered.  Yes, the "father's" took care of them.  It was the first time in ten years we've ever had a 'coon situation!  One of those racoons in our back yard could have taken out a Yorkie! ...or two!   (No, Jon that would not have been a positive thing!!!)

Eden has a new Hello Kitty to match her outfit!
More summer fun on the way ...we're just getting started!

Brynlee's Blessing Day

The McFarland's
Kaycee and Erik made the kind arrangements to gather family and friends to bless Brynlee during our brief visit to Nampa.  This touched us greatly and was totally unexpected.  I know how difficult it can sometimes be to make these kind of arrangements on short notice...and it wasn't even a "fast" Sunday.  Little Brynlee was only ten days old!  It was so very nice to hear Erik give his daughter both a blessing and name.  They have such a strong faith and beautiful family!  We were so pleased and proud to witness this very special occasion. It also meant a great deal to our boys, who look up to their big brother Erik's example and admire him so very much.
Thank you Kaycee and Erik!

And many thanks to all of Kaycee's family who greeted us warmly and kindly.  Even though we live far away, it makes us happy that our grandchildren are surrounded by so many wonderful family members.

Carson finally got his turn to hold his neice!  (He'd been begging to all weekend!)
Even Eden took a quick turn holding the baby!  But the baby was about done with being passed around...
Poor Daisy the cat...Eden found you again!
Silly kids...
I love Eden's big feet!... at least they were mostly clean!

She is so sweet!  I'm missing her and all of her family so much already.
Erik and Kaycee, take care of our sweet princess until we see you later this summer!  We love you all so much!!!
